Ben Hirst
Ben Hirst first discovered real music when he bought the cassettes of Huey Lewis and the News’s album “Fore” and Michael Jackson's “Bad”. Later Hirst was inspired by DJing and promoting parties all over rural England, where he played at nights alongside legendary UK House Music pioneers D.I.Y.
In 1999 he went to study Music Tech and graduated to working as a live sound engineer in 93 Feet East. There he met Paul Epworth who employed him as FOH for his band LoMax. He also went on to mix live sound for Futureheads, Bees, Dangermouse and MIA amongst many others.
Ben has been working in his own macro studio for some time and was the catalyst that led Ellie Jackson to turn Electro on La Roux's debut album. Out of these sessions he co- wrote and co-produced the track “Colourless Colour”, on the now Mercury nominated album.
